“You look stunning.” I step towards her, running my index finger down her bare side. “I don’t know how I’m going to make it through the evening without killing every man who looks at you.” That’s not a lie, I think, tracing the edge of her breast.
“You didn’t pick this, did you?” she asks. I lift my eyes to meet hers and shake my head.“I can change.”
“No. You look...” I shake my head, trying to think of a way to describe her. “You look absolutely beautiful.”
My Review:
Woof...right out of the gate I knew this was going to be one feisty read. Nolan is an over the top alpha. He is possessive, obsessive and don't even think of looking at his woman. Even he can admit he has a problem.
"She was mine. She just didn't know it." "The need to own her and possess her was crippling." Chloe was a little too young for me. Not age wise, but the way she acted at times seemed childish, but then again Nolan talked about cracking her ass quite a bit, so that dynamic seemed to work out for them. If you are looking for hearts and flowers, this is not for you. If you are looking for quick and dirty, then get on board. When I read, I like to escape and this was the perfect distraction with a delightful combo of a sexy alpha, steamy sex and a dash of mystery. It did seem rushed at times, but it kept me engaged and wanting more, so the only fault I have with it is I wish it were longer. I hope I get to "re-visit" these two in future Alfha Law novellas.
